Selma Storefront Rehabilitation

2001

2023

During this project my classmates and I traveled to Selma Alabama in order to document the buildings we would be making plans to restore.

I was tasked with the storefront 1007-1009 Alabama Avenue, which was previously a hardware store and a bike repair shop, but is now abandoned.

The overarching goal of our project was to exemplify that, with a touch of care and unwavering dedication, Selma could be resurrected to its former glory as a beautiful and historically significant city. Upon completing our documentation and restoration plans, we presented our vision to the Historic Preservation Society of Selma. The society embraced our proposals with enthusiasm and appreciation
